Traffic Explained
Everything you look at on, or download from, the Internet is made up of files of various sizes. These files are usually measured in bytes, just like the files on your computer. Like all units of measurement there are other names for larger files, and the most common ones are Kilobytes, Megabytes and Gigabytes.

Is the same as:
1024 Bytes(B)
1 Kilobyte (KB)
1024 KB
1 Megabyte (MB)
1024 MB
1 Gigabyte (GB)

Some examples of file sizes are:
  • 1 page of plain text - 8KB
  • 1 page .doc (Word file) - 24KB
  • Small .jpg image (like the Actrix logo at the top of this page) - 24KB
  • Average quality MP3 - 3.5MB
  • Web page with some text and images (like this one) - 116KB
