What affects the speed of my Broadband connection? For Broadband Speed Factors please Click Here. 3. How do the peak / off-peak plans work? Plans with a peak / off-peak allowance have two set periods within each 24 hour period, one in which your usage counts towards your peak allowance, and a second in which your usage counts towards your off-peak allowance. For Monthly plans your peak & off-peak usage will accumulate during your billing month while Daily peak / off-peak allowances will reset after each period. 4. What are the peak & off-peak times? The peak period is between 8am - 2am the following morning, while the off-peak period is between 2am - 8am. 5. What happened to Double Happy? The Actrix Double Happy service was launched in May 2008 and was a very popular addition to our range of Broadband plans. However based on customer feedback and changing usage patterns we decided to simplify our daily plans and create a new range of monthly plans which we believe means we now have a plan to suit every need and budget. Existing customers can still remain on their current Double Happy plan, but if you move location or want to change your plan we would ask that you pick one of the new plans. 6. What benefits do the new plans offer? The new plans offer a range of advantages and innovative features such as:
7. How does the Unmetered Upload feature work? On plans with the Unmetered Upload service data you send isnt counted towards your Traffic Allowance. 8. I only seem to be able to sign up with a 12 month minimum term? When connecting or transferring your Broadband and home phone line there are fees and we will automatically pay most or all of these for you (additional Connection & Wiring fees may apply). This way you can setup your services for less and only pay the setup fees if you disconnect within 12 months, however if you really want to pay the connection fees up front just ask and we can sort this out for you. 9. With a monthly plan will I receive a warning when I'm getting close to my allowance? On all monthly plans a warning E-mail is sent to your contact E-mail address when you exceed 80% of your allowance. If you exceed 100% of your allowance a further warning E-mail is sent to advise you. 10. How do the Excess Usage Data Blocks work? If you opt for an excess usage plan and exceed your monthly allowance a warning E-mail is sent and a 1GB Excess Usage Data Block is automatically added to your account. As you use this 1GB another warning E-mail is sent when you exceed 80% of it, and if you exceed 100% a further warning is sent and a new 1GB Data Block is added. This is repeated until your monthly allowance is reset on your next billing day. 11. Can I opt for Excess Usage on a daily plan? No, at this stage the excess usage option is only available for customers on a monthly plan. 12. What happens if I don't use my full allowance? For daily plans your allowance resets each morning at 2am and any unused portion of the previous days allowance expires. For monthly plans your allowance is reset on your monthly billing day and any unused portion of the previous months allowance, or any additional Data Blocks added will expire. 13. What if I want a higher traffic allowance? At this stage the largest traffic allowance we offer is the 50GB peak / 50GB off-peak (or equivalent Daily allowance) plan. However the monthly version supports Excess Usage so you can always increase your peak and / or off-peak allowance by using extra Data Blocks to ensure your connection is never Rate Limited. 14. How often can I change plan? You can only change plan once per month. 15. Is the 2000MB daily plan 2000MB or 2GB? The 2000MB daily plan actually has a limit of 2048MB (which is 2GB) just to avoid any confusion. 16. How long does the credit check take? We will endeavour to setup any products and services you order as soon as possible and will contact you only if there is an issue. 17. I ordered an Unlimited Dial-up connection as well, how does this work? Once your Broadband installation date is confirmed we'll setup a child / sub account with the username 'username.dial' and the same password as your main account to use as your Unlimited Dial-up connection. An E-mail will be sent to advise you once this is ready. |
